Our program has the resources and tools to help your child achieve their primary developmental milestones such as physical, intellectual, language and social-emotional. Heartfelt does this best by employing well trained, educated, professional teachers to help guide your child to succeed in life. Our program follows the High Scope Curriculum. This comprehensive approach allows adult-child interactions, large and small groups and a consistent but flexible daily routine. It also supports active learning experience using hands on exploration and following the children’s interest. Toddlers are curious and very busy. Here at Heartfelt we keep a daily routine in the classroom that helps with many transitions throughout the day. Our typical toddler daily routine consists of meals, worktime, small and large group times, outside play, naptime and bodily care. Including hand washing, diapering or using the bathroom for potty training. We do offer potty training in our toddler program. This is a very big step at this age, and helps encourage independency and language. We have the facilities connected to the classroom to help guide this process along at the child’s interest and readiness. Toddler development characteristics grow in leaps and bounds between 1 and 3 years old. They are rapidly increasing their curiosity and active nature in areas such as gross motor skills, socializing with others, language, problem solving, independency, emotional development, and moral development.

At this level, there are several characteristics that are noticed. These include:

  • Beginning to form letters and numbers
  • Recognition of numbers and letters
  • Fine motor skills developing such as cutting simple shapes using small scissors
  • Being able to count objects up to 10 in one to one correspondence
  • Recognizing five or more colors
  • Being able to dress themselves
  • Going from scribbling to making more recognizable and descriptive drawings that include a body with head, arms, legs in the appropriate place
  • Beginning to understand and express emotions

F.A.Q.

Our toddler classroom age range is between 12 months – 2 ½ to 3 years. We are a 1-4 ratio, with no more than 12 children in the classroom.

Yes, we do. We have the facilities to support potty training. We work as a team with families to encourage the children to go at their own pace when they are showing signs of readiness.

When they turn a year old, they transition from a crib to a cot and usually have one nap in the afternoon. However, they can sleep at any time of the day if needed until they reach that transition period to one nap a day.

Heartfelt uses an online app called Brightwheel. You will be able to download the app to your phone and get updated on your child’s day. In this app, you will also be able to send your child’s teachers messages to ask them how your child’s day is going. Your child teachers will post when and how much they ate, when they were changed, photos and much more.

Our center has a food program that serves well nutritional food made from healthy ingredients and made fresh each day. Milk is also served, 2% for children over the age of 2 years and whole milk for under 2 years. Water is offered throughout the day.

We play on our toddler playground twice a day. (Weather permitting)

What Our Families are Saying

“The staff in the infant room at Heartfelt Impressions is one of a kind. They make my daughter feel like she’s right at home. They read to her, interact with her through music and play, and love her as if she was their own. When I leave her in the morning, I know she is in the best of hands and that she is going to have an amazing day.”
“We couldn’t be happier about the choice we made to send our infant and 4-year-old daughters to Heartfelt Impressions!”
“We are so happy with our experience at Heartfelt Impressions. We researched 25 local child care providers, touring 8. What sold us on Heartfelt was that they interact with the babies on a very personal level, as if each is their own.”
