The infant program are ages 6 weeks to 12 months. In our infant room you will see many different development stages since a lot happens within the first year of life. Some smaller developmental characteristics you would see include; child holds head up without support, babbling and cooing, holding onto objects and materials for longer than a few seconds, and child reaches for objects. Some major developmental characteristics you will see include, rolling over, sitting up, pulling themselves up on objects and supporting themselves, crawling and walking. Since infants are nonverbal, we will work on infant sign language used in everyday interactions. Infants also learn through sensory play, so the teachers incorporate daily sensory experiments to help children learn and grow. The teachers will also encourage the children through doing Ages and Stages Questionnaires every other month to learn more about each child’s development. The teachers will then base activities around the child’s developmental stage to help them progress.

F.A.Q.
Heartfelt provides diapers, wipes, stage 2 baby foods, formula, and linens for cribs. We also provide breakfast, AM snack, lunch and PM snack when your baby is ready to eat solids.
Our ratio in the Infant classroom is one teacher to four infants. Our room never exceeds eight infants and two teachers.
Heartfelt uses an online app called Brightwheel. You will be able to download the app to your phone and get updated on your child’s day. In this app, you will also be able to send your child’s teachers messages to ask them how your child’s day is going. Your child teachers will post when and how much they ate, when they were changed, photos and much more.
Each infant has their own individual schedule. You as parents will guide us on what you would prefer your infants schedule to look like.
We will greet you and your child as you enter the classroom and will help you establish your preferred way to drop off. Examples (You handing your child to the teachers, putting your child at the table or high chairs to eat breakfast, or putting them on the floor to play.)
Absolutely! Heartfelt Impressions has an open-door policy. You can stop by the center whenever you please to breastfeed or just spend quality time with your child during a lunch break.
We warm bottles by using a crockpot. This will warm your child’s bottle safely and to the temperature that they prefer. Microwaves are never used.
Each night we remove the bedding and we use a three-step cleaning process to ensure the cribs are cleaned and sanitized before use of another child.
At Heartfelt Impressions we use the High scope Curriculum which is play based learning that focuses on an infant’s interest and developmental needs.
When your child is ready for the toddler room you will have a transition meeting with your child’s current primary caregiver and their new primary caregiver. From here, you will be given a welcome packet with all the information you need to help your child be successful in the next classroom (Daily schedule, things you will need to bring). We will discuss how things are different in the toddler room compared to the infant room and how we help with this transition. This will also allow you to ask the new teacher questions and give you a feel for the classroom.
Heartfelt Impressions Learning Center is a family run center by two local moms. The infant room runs a ratio of one care giver to every four children. Teachers develop lessons plans based off HighScope curriculum daily based on your child’s interest. Teachers excel by partaking in yearly trainings to further their careers and gain growing knowledge in the early childhood field. Heartfelt is family oriented and is all about hands on learning and making your child feel as though they are at home.
